Characters

Arlo Dog

Arlo moves through the world a little differently to Lottie. He'd rather read a book under a tree than chase anything across a playground, and he notices things that other people walk straight past - the shape of a cloud, the quiet of a garden after rain. Arlo is thoughtful and sensitive, the kind of kid who feels things deeply and needs bit of space to work out what he's feeling before he says it out loud.

He's not shy, so much as careful imaginative in a quieter way, building whole worlds in his head rather than announcing them to the room.

Lottie Rabbit

Lottie is a rabbit with more energy than the room can hold - and she's only five. She's the first one up a tree, the first one into a puddle and the first one to shout 'Let's go!' before anyone has worked out where. Loud in the best way, endlessly creative and completely allergic to sitting still, Lottie sees every day as an invitation to do something.

But underneath all that noise is a huge heart. Lottie is the friend who notices when someone is left out and drags them straight into the game. She gets big feelings fast - excitement, frustration, joy - and she's still figuring out what to do with them all.

Froggie lives in Arlo's pocket - which is either the best or worst real estate decision any frog has ever made. Small, loyal and glued to Arlo's side, he has a full-time job of turning up where you least expect it: mid-snack, mid-hug and occasionally mid-air.

Keep an eye out for him. While Lottie and Arlo are having their big feelings, Froggie is usually off having a much smaller, much sillier crisis of his own - stuck in a cup, upside down on a leaf, one hop from disaster. He's not here to fix anything. He's here to make it funnier, and to give you something to hunt for on the page.
